NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT
FOR STRESS INCONTINENCE
Stress incontinence can result from a range of different factors
and affects both men and women, though it is especially common
in women who are postnatal, menopausal or post-menopausal.
WHAT IS STRESS INCONTINENCE
Stress incontinence occurs when the muscles responsible for keeping
the bladder closed - namely the pelvic floor muscle and the muscles
around the bladder neck - become weakened. This weakening is often
the result of muscle strain during childbirth or the loss of muscle tone
that naturally occurs during menopause. When these muscles can no
longer provide adequate support, pressure from everyday activities
such as running, jumping, coughing or lifting heavy objects can cause
involuntary leakage or dribbling, which are the hallmark signs of stress
incontinence. I some cases stress incontinence may also lead to nocturia,
the need to wake up frequently during the night to urinate. Many women
who undergo Femme360 treatment report significant improvements not
only in their stress incontinence but also in nocturia symptoms.
The Ultra Femme 360 can further help improve symptoms by stimulating muscle
and tissue regeneration within the vaginal canal and around the bladder neck.
This process helps strengthen the supporting muscles, restoring better
bladder control and improving overall continence.

INCONTINENCE AFTER CHILDBIRTH
During pregnancy and childbirth, a women’s body undergoes
a wide range of physical hormonal, and psychological changes.
These may include weight gain, alternatives in body shape, thyroid
fluctuations, and changes to the skin and hair, such as hormonal
acne. While every woman’s experience is different, many will
encounter some degree of urinary incontinence or leakage
during or after pregnancy and childbirth.

One of the most common forms of incontinence is stress incontinence,
which occurs due to strain placed on the pelvic floor muscles during childbirth.
Normally these muscles support the bladder and urethra, maintaining control and only relaxing when we consciously choose to however, after giving birth, the pelvic floor can become stretched and weakened, reducing its ability to prevent leakage when pressure
is applied -
such as during sneezing, coughing, laughing, or lifting heavy objects.
Additionally, an episiotomy or other birth – related trauma can damage nerves
that control the bladder or cause displacement of the bladder and urethra, further contributing to incontinence.

To help regain bladder control, pelvic floor strengthening exercise, such as Kegels,
are often recommended. While effective, these exercises require consistency and time,
and the process of rebuilding pelvic floor strength through physical therapy can be gradual.

INCONTINENCE AFTER MENOPAUSE

During menopause, the genitourinary system- which includes the bladder and vaginal canal -
undergoes significant changes that can affect both menopausal and postmenopausal women.
The decline in oestrogen levels during this stage weakens the pelvic floor muscles and increase vaginal laxity both of which contributes to stress urinary incontinence.

Menopausal – related oestrogen loss impacts not only the genitourinary system but also the
skin, hair and metabolism, often leading to weight gain. In addition, oestrogen declines and
slows collagen production throughout the body including the vaginal tissue. This reduction
in collagen results in thinning of the vaginal wall, slower tissue regeneration, and symptoms
such as vaginal dryness and laxity - all of which can worsen urinary incontinence.

These changes are collectively referred to as Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM),
a condition characterised by symptoms such as vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse,
increased susceptibility to urinary tract infections, and stress urinary incontinence. Approximately half of all menopausal and post -menopausal women experience GSM unfortunately, the
condition does not resolve without treatment and typically persists unless addressed.

HOW CAN ULTRA FEMME 360 HELP IMPROVE SYMPTOMS
OF STRESS INCONTINENCE
Ultra Femme uses gentle radiofrequency energy to stimulate your
body’s natural healing response, this process encourages the
regeneration of new, healthy tissue in both the internal and external
areas of the vagina and genitourinary system. The newly formed
tissue act like a natural “scaffold” providing support to the
pelvic floor muscles.

In milder causes this enhanced support allows the
pelvic floor muscle to function properly almost immediately
for more severe cases, the treatment strengthens the muscles
gradually, especially when combined with targeted
physical therapy techniques.
